We at SpinChem, a Swedish company, have recently collaborated on a project with Prof. Dr. Benjamin List, Max Planck Institute für Kohlenforschung, and Prof. Armando Carlone from Università degli Studi dell'Aquila and partnered with Dr. Reddy’s, a multinational pharma company. The goal of this project is to accelerate access to high-quality, affordable, and innovative medicines for everyone. This unique approach combines novel chemistry with the fundamental elements of process intensification.
SpinChem contributes via its innovative technology for synthesis, manufacturing, and purification in the chemical and biotechnology industries. We are going to test heterogeneous catalysts, and contribute to improving their behaviour, their activity, and their recyclability.
The SpinChems Rotating Bed Reactor (RBR) aims to achieve:
- An equal or improved performance compared to a non-immobilised catalyst.
- Improved catalyst recovery/recyclability.
- Ability to run in scale-up conditions (e.g. steady state/ CSTR or large single batch)
